After earning a Nomination, the first step in becoming a Certified 2015 Litigator Award Winner is completing the Declaration Ballot, confidentially submitting supporting declarations attesting to qualifying “Performance Benchmark” litigation achievement* within one or more of 72 pre-defined “Practice Specialty” categories.
* Includes Verdict Awards, Negotiated Final Settlements and/or Binding Arbitration Awards

All 2015 Litigator Award Winners must prove achievement of “Performance Benchmarks” within one or more of 72 “Practice Specialty” categories that include not less than:

i.   Two verified “Verdicts or Settlements” of at least $1 Million Dollars in any one Practice Specialty category within the preceding 5* year period prior to Nomination, or

ii.   One verified “Verdict or Settlement” of at least $5 Million Dollars in any one Practice Specialty category within the preceding 10** year period prior to Nomination, or

iii.   One verified “Verdict or Settlement” of at least $10 Million Dollars in any one Practice Specialty category within the preceding 20 year period prior to Nomination.

It is a feat achieved by less than 1% of all Lawyers, and truly a testament to each Award Recipient’s remarkable performance relative to peers. Nominees are eligible to receive Awards in up to 6 Practice Specialty categories per Nomination Ballot.

*Firms with 10 Lawyers or less: The time period shall be "within the preceding 10 year period prior to Nomination."

**Firms with 10 Lawyers or less: The time period shall be "within the preceding 15 year period prior to Nomination."

The second step in becoming a Certified 2015 Litigator Award Winner is to confirm that your firm possesses an exemplary Regulatory Record. The value of meeting the ethical requirement for Award Certification is that it bakes into a firm’s DNA an adherence to very high professional standards of conduct, ethics, reliability and diligence. By voluntarily meeting higher standards of transparency, accountability, and performance, Litigator Award Winners present a vision of a better way to do business.

Make it Official

Nominees must deliver their firm’s completed Declaration Ballot to the Board Not Later than the Due Date indicated therein. Time is strictly of the essence. Missing, incomplete, or Declaration Ballots received after the
Declaration Ballot Deadline will not be eligible for Award Certification.
