Richard Gurfein is a past president of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association, a current member of its Board of Directors and Executive Committee. He is New York State Delegate to the American Association for Justice and chairs a number of its committees. Preston Douglas is a past chairman of the Medical Negligence Information Exchange Group of the American Association for Justice and editor-in-chief of the New York Litigation Review.
Richard A. Gurfein
Mr. Gurfein founded Gurfein Douglas LLP in 2002 after having been a partner in Wiesen, Gurfein and Jenkins for 20 years. The new firm was dedicated to the most seriously injured victims of negligence and malpractice. Since the firm was created they've had verdicts and settlements ranging as high as 7 and a half million dollars for the most seriously injured people.
Preston J. Douglas
Mr. Douglas left the position of managing partner of the medical malpractice department of one of the countries largest personal injury firms, Fuchsberg & Fuchsberg, to become one of the original partners in Gurfein Douglas LLP.
